"How To Supercharge Your Affirmations With One Little Word" By Hanif Khaki
As many know, affirmations are one of the key ingredients of any self-improvement attempts. When used correctly, you can literally reprogram your mind for success. The constant repetition of positive phrases will help shape your thoughts, actions and feelings so that you may bring your goals to reality.
Unfortunately, however, most people phrase their affirmations incorrectly without even realizing it! Be sure you are not one of them. One of the biggest issues with affirmations is that they need to be phrased in the positive, present tense and with absolute belief. For example, instead of saying “I don’t want to be in debt” your affirmation would state “I am financially free and wealthy.”
The usual advice is; repeat “I am financially free” several times per day. The goal being, to attract the circumstances, attitudes and behaviours that will help you achieve that goal.
However, when you look in the mirror and see yourself saying “I am financially free” over and over again, there is usually some doubt inside you. You just know you aren’t "financially free", and you can see this in the mirror. This creates a conflict and causes feelings of negativity towards yourself and your affirmation as well.
It’s small wonder that so many people give up on affirmations so quickly after they begin. They see it as a waste of time since they don't see any results. However, the affirmations are not to blame. It’s the feelings, emotions, and mood of the people while they are saying the affirmations, that is to blame here.Feelings are critical to reciting affirmations, and the removal of doubt in this process is extremely important. So what is the "one" word you can add that will ensure positive emotions and create faster results?
The word I'm referring to is “becoming”. This word eliminates doubt from the situation. Your conscious mind may not believe that you are "financially free", but it cannot dispute that you are in the process of "becoming" financially free. This rule applies equally to all types of affirmations.
Adding the word “becoming” forces you to remain positive towards the affirmation. Another phrase with similar impact, is “I’m in the process of…”
This phrase can also be added at the beginning of your affirmation. Here are a few examples:
“I am in the process of attracting more money”“I am in the process of getting a big pay raise”“I am in the process of becoming more physically fit.”
These additions to your affirmations will undoubtedly enable you to accept your phrases as being true, which will lead to positive emotions. Emotions, after all, are really the key to attracting your goals.
